Trails & Parks
The Levee Trail  3.2 mile trail - Runs from Marshall Road and Railroad Tracks to Railroad Tracks behind Leonard Park.
The River Trail 3 mile trail - Runs East and West from Arnold’s Grove trail-head to Simpson County Park.
From Arnold’s Grove Trail Head, the 3 miles of asphalt trail follows the river eastward, passing beneath Highway 141 and the Burlington Northern Railroad to a boat access at Meramec Landing Park, continue on the trail east to Simpson County Park. Here it connects to an existing trail that continues east to Kirkwood’s Greentree Park.
Vance Trails Park(31.8 acres) 1338 Hanna Road, Valley Park MO 63088 - Entrance just North of Vance Road on Hanna Road. (playground, concrete over look area with hand rail off parking area & 2 picnic tables mid-way through park trail) Directions
Arnold’s Grove Trailhead (3 mile trail) River trail to Simpson County Park. The trailhead is immediately west of Highway 141, located on the top of the new Valley Park levee. It is accessible from Meramec Station Road.

1935 Frisco Caboose:Â Original Caboose # 398. Originated in Valley Park, Missouri. Moved to Ameren U.E. Country Club in 1962. Donated back to the City of Valley Park Department of Parks and Recreation on November 3, 1998 (Please note: Caboose is only open to the public for special events.)
Brignole Park (2.0 acres) 200 2nd Ave. Valley Park, MO 63088 - Slide, swings, merry-go-round and jungle gym. Lighted ball field with concession stand, restrooms, dugouts, bleachers. Open to the public. Field can be reserved day or night. Directions
Leonard Park (5.3 acres) 4th and Leonard Avenue, Valley Park, MO 63088. Playground, 2 basketball court backstops, pavillion with 14 picnic tables and 5 BBQ pits. Directions
Lone Elk Park (546 acres) 1 Lone Elk Park Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63088.  I-44 North Outer Road west of Highway 141. Lone Elk Park is a wildlife management area, with bison, wild turkey, waterfowl, elk and deer. Directions
World Bird Sanctuary (305+ acres)125 Bald Eagle Ridge Road Valley Park, MO 63088 (636) 225-4390 ext. 0 Just before the entrance to Lone Elk Park! The World Bird Sanctuary is both a unique St. Louis attraction and entertaining environmental education opportunity. With over 305 acres and over 200 animals in our care, they offer a one-of-a-kind wildlife experience. Directions
Meramec Levee Recreation Park (40+ acres) 1135 Pyramid Drive, Valley Park, MO 63088. Entrance at Marshall Road and Pyramid Drive. The park is located on city property that was acquired through levee construction and was once part of the old Johnny Mac’s Outdoor Sports Complex. It sits alongside of Arnold’s Grove Trailhead and River Trail which runs along the Meramec River and has the potential framework of interconnecting common parks without ever leaving the parks themselves. The 40+ acres consists of ball fields, soccer/football fields, archery range, new parking lot to support the boat ramp, flood-proof outdoor lighting and restroom facilities. Directions
Simpson County Park (72 acre lake) 1224 Marshall Rd, Valley Park, MO 63088.  Playground, lake, boat ramp, pavillion, picnic tables, restrooms, soccer field, trail. Directions
Buder Park  (276 acres) 215 Valley Park Road, Saint Louis, MO 63026. Playground, shelters, tennis courts, model plane fields, polo fields, archery range. Buder Park is divided into 2 parts, half is north of hwy 44, and half is south of 44. The playground is on the portion of the park which is south of hwy 44. Directions

WF & P Steam Railway (12.1 miles away) 199 Grand Avenue. Glencoe, MO 63038 (636) 587-3538 (Sundays only, May – October) The Wabash, Frisco, and Pacific Association invites you to come aboard their 12 inch gauge live Steam Railroad. The Railroad is open every Sunday, May through October rain or shine. Trains start their scheduled departures from the station at 11:00 a.m.,with trains departing about every 20 minutes. The final train leaves at 4:15 p.m. The ride is a two mile round trip lasting about 30 minutes and travels along the scenic Meramec River.
Operated by an all volunteer staff, the WF&P was organized in 1939 and began operations near Brown Rd. and Natural Bridge. Since 1961, they have continued this fine tradition in Glencoe, MO (Wildwood, MO) providing families with a look back in history. Fun for the entire family! Directions
